Supply Only and Installer Responsibility

Teak & Rope is the material supplier. Unless a signed agreement expressly says otherwise, we do not measure the site, design the building or system, prepare the substrate, install products, supervise trades, approve work or certify compliance.

Technical information explains the intended use of a product. It does not replace the installer’s trade knowledge, project drawings, engineering, manufacturer instructions, the NCC, Australian Standards, permits or approval conditions.

The customer must provide complete project information, select suitably qualified and licensed professionals, obtain approvals and ensure the order is correct before production. The customer must give the installer the current product guide, product schedule and any approved project detail.

The customer is responsible for coordinating structure, substrate, waterproofing, drainage, ventilation, flashings, services, adjacent trades, safe access and maintenance.

The installer must inspect the site and delivered material, verify dimensions and quantities, confirm that the supporting construction is suitable, and use compatible fixings, clips, adhesives, sealants, tools and protective equipment.

The installer must allow for material movement; preserve drainage and ventilation; treat edges, joints, corners, penetrations and interfaces correctly; protect products during other work; and comply with the current guide and project documents.

Do not begin or continue installation if the product, batch, colour, condition, dimensions, intended use, substrate, support spacing, fixing method, adhesive, drainage, ventilation, waterproofing, fire evidence or approval status is uncertain.

Stop work before concealing the issue. Photograph the condition, isolate affected material and obtain written clarification. Installing a visible issue can create avoidable cost and make cause difficult to determine.

Only a written product-specific direction from an authorised Teak & Rope representative may clarify our supplied product information. Site conversations, samples and sales comments do not approve a departure from the guide or certify the project.

A direction cannot replace engineering, certification or another role Teak & Rope has not contracted to perform. Any proposed substitution or altered configuration must be assessed before work proceeds.

Keep the invoice, labels and batch details; delivery and storage photographs; product documents used; substrate and framing photographs; measurements and set-out; fixing, clip, adhesive and sealant records; approvals; progress photographs; installer details; completion inspection and maintenance handover.

These records support safe maintenance and a fair investigation if a concern is raised. They do not waive any non-excludable right.
